Why You Should Skydive At Skydive Cross Keys in New Jersey
Here’s a look into why Skydive Cross Keys is THE place to soar if you’re from Delaware.
Safety-First Approach
Above all else, your safety is our top priority. Our commitment to safety is evident in every aspect of our operation, from the training our instructors receive to the maintenance of our facilities.
Two of the more obvious safety regulations we enforce are regarding age and weight.
-
How old do you have to be to go skydiving in Delaware?
Skydive Cross Keys is a proud United States Parachute Association (USPA) Group Member Dropzone. This means we strictly adhere to the regulations and recommendations put in place by the USPA – one of these being that you must be 18 years old to skydive. (Pssst! This makes a skydiving gift certificate the best for someone if they are on the verge of their lucky 18th!)
-
What is the weight limit for skydiving in Delaware?
At Skydive Cross Keys, we can take people who weigh less than 250 lbs while fully clothed. Is there any wiggle room in there … can a 300 lb person skydive? Unfortunately, no. Skydiving centers never want to exclude anyone from experiencing the thrill of skydiving, but we have to keep the safety of you and our instructors as our focus. The more weight placed under a parachute, the more strain on the gear and the faster the descent, which can be unsafe and in violation of gear manufacturer regulations.
Friendliness
We pride ourselves on being the happiest dropzone on the East Coast, which makes us the clear choice for friends looking for things to do in Wilmington, DE – we’re less than an hour from you! Our entire team is passionate about skydiving and dedicated to making your once-in-a-lifetime skydiving experience truly unforgettable.
Quality
Cutting corners isn’t acceptable, especially with an activity like skydiving. Our aircraft are meticulously maintained, our gear is under constant inspection, and our customer service is unmatched. Skydiving is an incredibly exhilarating (and sometimes nerve-wracking) activity, and we want to aid you in feeling as confident and comfortable as possible from the second you book with us to when your feet touch the ground after your jump.
Full-Service
What happens if you go tandem skydiving, love it, and want to learn how to skydive solo? You can do that here! We cater to everyone – from first-timers looking to go tandem skydiving just once, to people wanting to achieve their solo skydiving license and people advancing in the sport as fun jumpers.
-
How much does it cost to skydive solo?
The cost is variable, as every student learns at a different pace, but around $4,000 is average for training and progression. Once a skydiver is licensed and owns their gear, lift tickets to 13.5K are only $30!
Facilities
From our aircraft to our skydive-landing viewing area, our dropzone is set up to accommodate any sized group. We consistently jump from 13,500 feet, which translates to a full 60 seconds of highly-coveted freefall. The most common altitude in skydiving is significantly lower. How long does a 9,000 foot skydive take? About 30 seconds … lame!
We Love Big Groups!
Do you manage an adventure club at the University of Delaware? Are you looking for “skydiving Wilmington, DE” for a birthday party? Or, perhaps you’re into Greek life at your college and need a unique fundraising idea? Come skydiving! We love sharing our sport with groups, big or small, which is why we offer special group discounts.
-
Can you skydive with your friends?
Our planes fit 17 jumpers! You can absolutely ride in the plane with your friends and jump out just a few seconds apart! In the sky, you will be at least 1,000 feet away from each other. We keep safety first, which means you must maintain an appropriate distance from other skydivers.
Our Reviews Don’t Lie
With consistent 5-star reviews, Skydive Cross Keys is a favorite destination for Delaware thrill-seekers.
“I did tandem skydiving for the first time with my friends here the other day. My tandem instructor was Sonny and my videographer was Ian. They were both great! I felt very safe with Sonny as he checked my harness multiple times during the process and verbally affirmed everything he was doing. I would totally come here again!”

“I had my first skydiving experience today at Cross Keys, and it was absolutely unforgettable! Christian was my licensed instructor, and Alec was the videographer, and they made the perfect team. Christian was incredible – he made sure I felt comfortable and ready to have fun from the very start. He’s so down to earth, friendly, and knowledgeable, and he even showed me some amazing views and fun tricks during the dive.”
